The car was born as the Aston Martin Vantage V8 GT2. Slightly adapted to meet the new GTE regulations introduced in 2011, it competed in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Jota team. The drivers in the Sarthe were Sam Hancock, Simon Dolan and Chris Buncombe.
